Finns Finito

Off the desk last month some Eureka and Foundry Finns, three rifle batns and some support elements.  I do like painting Snow miniatures, a simple grey undercoat, then highlight up to white. I still need to complete the armour and aircraft!

Wartime Modern Russian Federation Infantry

Modern Russian Federation Infantry

Just off the painting desk some of Wartime's new Modern Russian range, suitable for the end of the cold war and post cold war battles.

The figures are superb with excellent detail, I especially like the weapons, I painted them in two different variations of the Flora and woodland camouflage patterns. These figures really suit post 1990 (body armour and the new helmet), I have painted the 6B23 body armour in plain reed green as the original issue, now it is available and many different flora, woodland and digital patterns.

These chaps will be for my modern skirmish gaming.

dirty work

Bought a diecast front loader, all it needed was a slap of green paint  some schmincke pastels for weathering it.

Cold War Americans

Some of "Wartime Miniatures" latest release of Cold War Americans, still missing the support weapons which are currently being sculpted, the whole range is close to release I believe.

These figures can be used from 1963 (adoption of the M16 and M79) to 1981 (adoption of BDCUs and the Kevlar helmet)so will do for any cold war period american army, these figures could also play the part of any American equiped army of the 70s and the 80s, in fact they could even be used for any imagination nation if one is inclined.

Pondering 20mm gaming.............

Well I have decided to start another blog that will cover my 20mm WW2 and modern gaming onto its own blog as my 20mm collections make up a large part of my wargames collection.

I probably started gaming in 20mm with airfix minis in the 70s, plastic kits and figures have been a part of my life for more than 30 years. I have more money invested in figures, buildings and terrain for 20mm than anything else in my wargames collection.

As for 20mm Armies I have German 1939 to 45, Russians 43-45, French 1940 and 44-45, Belgian 1940, Polish 1939, Dutch 1940, Finns 1940-43, British Airborne 1943-45, American Airborne 44-45, British infantry, armour 44-45, American infantry and armour 44-45,  Polish 44-45, Japanese 41-45, Australians 42-45, then Cold War 1980s Americans, West Germans, British, Soviets, East Germans, Vietnam Australians, NVA , VC, some warlords and other bits and pieces.

I will be posting current and upcoming projects, games and a few pics of my collections

cheers
Matt
