Counterattack Saint-Mere-Eglise

A few photos from recent learning game of the counterattack at Saint-Mere-l’eglise. The German assault failed due failed activation rolls, both supporting stugs were destroyed, one by a 57mm and one bazooka. 

A few more games of Chain of Command 2 to grasp the new rules fully. 

82nd Airborne Normandy plans

 82nd Airborne Normandy

Another project for the upcoming summer my 82nd airborne in the Normandy. I will build these with rapid fire in mind. I purchased some of Simons soldiers and added some other miniatures from Elhiem, AB and Alder miniatures plus other bits and pieces to fill out the units. This way I will have Arnhem and normandy US airborne. I need to get the infantry done then I will add AT guns, crewed artillery and the glider infantry (in normal US infantry uniform). I also want to add three Waco Gliders for Normandy.

82nd Airborne Market Garden Plans

82nd Airborne Market Garden build 

I have commenced my 82nd airborne for the Arnhem campaign, I already have plastic US Airborne with a few metals for my Market Garden Airborne troops. I have a mix of Alder and SGTs Mess plus various artillery bits mostly in the support pieces.

This build will be specific 82nd metal Alder figures for the replacement of the plastic figures in the battalions. I also plan to add correctly marked jeeps, a supply drop area for Groosbek and a new glider artillery battery, plus a AB metal Glider battalion in normal US greens, three Waco gliders also need to be built too.

WIP 1 Wednesday American 82nd Airborne Normandy

 I Finally have decided to attack my new  Normandy Airborne Americans (I know you do not need both Normandy and Arnhem …. But Different uniforms ….. Oh well the life of a button counter lol). 

I purchased four new battalions of Airborne for Rapid Fire plus support elements from Alder and Simons Soldiers miniatures earlier in the year in Oz and at Partizan along with jeeps from RTR and guns from SHQ and Early War Miniatures. 

I undercoated two battalions on the weekend and have already got the base colours on the guns and jeeps. 

I plan to get them completed next few weeks, then onto the glider troops, more vehicles, Waco gliders, plus some C47 aircraft planned with actual aircraft for the 101st! Then I will commence the 82nd Airborne, and do the same.
